Children’s Privacy Notice
1. Introduction
Hello!
This notice explains what information we may use when you use the SOS Button App and, where applicable, when you visit or use our website.
We want to explain this in a simple way.
If there is anything here that you do not understand, please ask your parent or legal guardian to help you.
2. Who we are
We are the company that operates the SOS Button App.
The SOS Button App is an app that can help send alerts, share important information, and support communication through the app.
We may also have a website where we publish information about the app, legal documents, contact details, support information, and links to download or learn more about the app.
3. Who this notice is for
This notice is for children who use the SOS Button App or whose information may be used in connection with the app.
It is also important for parents and legal guardians.
4. What information we may use
Depending on how the app is used, we may use:
- your name;
- your nickname;
- your profile photo;
- your location, if the app needs it to work;
- photos, videos, or audio shared through the app;
- information about SOS alerts, notifications, whether an alert was sent, delivered, seen, accepted, cancelled, or closed, and other activity in the app;
- technical information about the device and app.
We try not to use more information than we really need.
5. Why we use your information
We may use your information to:
- make the app work;
- send SOS alerts and notifications, including important safety notifications when the app needs to tell the right person that you may need help;
- share information with the right people through the app;
- show location when this is part of the app’s functions;
- keep the app safe and secure;
- fix problems in the app;
- make the website work, keep it safe, show legal documents, provide support information, and answer messages sent through the website;
- improve how the app works;
- follow the law;
- protect children, users, and other people where needed.
6. Who may see your information
Depending on how the app is used, your information may be seen by:
- people using the app in the way the app allows;
- your parent or legal guardian, where applicable;
- companies that help us run the app or website, such as hosting, notification, analytics, security, or technical support providers;
- authorities or other persons, where we must do this under the law or where this is necessary to protect rights, safety, or people.
We do not share your information with everyone.
We only share it when this is needed for the app or required by law.
7. Our website
If you visit our website, we may use some technical information to make the website work, keep it safe, understand how it is used, and improve it.
The website may show information about the SOS Button App, legal documents, contact details, support information, and download links.
If you or your parent or legal guardian send us a message through the website, we may use the information in that message to answer the request.
The website does not replace the app and does not provide emergency services.
8. Critical Alerts
Some SOS alerts may be sent as Critical Alerts on devices that support this feature.
A Critical Alert is a very important SOS notification. It may appear or make a sound even if the device is muted, in Focus mode, Do Not Disturb mode, or not being actively used, if this is allowed by the device settings and permissions.
We use Critical Alerts only for SOS alerts and safety purposes.
We do not use Critical Alerts for advertising, ordinary messages, app news, subscriptions, or other non-SOS reasons.
You, your parent, or your legal guardian may be able to manage Critical Alert permissions in the app settings or device settings, where this feature is available.
If Critical Alerts are not allowed or do not work, the app may still try to send other alerts or notifications, such as regular notifications, SMS, or email, where available.
9. SOS alerts and important notifications
The app may send SOS alerts when the SOS button is used.
Some SOS alerts may be sent as very important notifications, so the right person can notice them even if the device is not being actively used.
The app may also try to send another notification, such as an SMS or email, if the main alert does not work or is not answered.
These notifications are used for SOS and safety purposes. They are not used to send advertising or ordinary messages.
10. Your location
The app may use your location if this is needed for SOS alerts or other app functions that are turned on.
When an SOS alert is active, your location may be shared with the right person through the app so they can understand where you may be.
The app may also show location updates while the SOS alert is active.
Because location is important and sensitive, we try to use it carefully and only where needed.
11. Photos, videos, and audio
If photos, videos, or audio are uploaded or shared through the app, they may contain personal information.
We may use this information only when needed for the app, support, safety, security, or legal reasons.
12. Your parent or legal guardian
Sometimes your parent or legal guardian may need to give permission for the use of the app or for the use of your information.
Where the law requires this, we may ask for permission, confirmation, or approval from your parent or legal guardian.
Your parent or legal guardian may also contact us, ask questions, or request actions in relation to your information, where this is allowed by law.
13. How we try to keep your information safe
We use technical and organizational measures to help protect your information.
We work to reduce the risk of loss, misuse, unauthorized access, or unlawful disclosure.
But no app, internet connection, or technology can be completely perfect or completely secure at all times.
14. How long we keep your information
We do not keep your information forever.
We may keep it for different periods depending on:
- what kind of information it is;
- why we need it;
- safety and security needs;
- legal requirements;
- the need to investigate incidents or protect rights.
When we no longer need the information, we may delete it, anonymize it, or securely remove it, unless the law allows or requires us to keep it longer.
15. Your rights
Depending on the law that applies, you or your parent or legal guardian may have rights in relation to your information.
These may include the right to:
- ask what information we have;
- ask us to correct information;
- ask us to delete information;
- ask us to limit how we use information;
- ask for a copy of information;
- object to certain uses of information;
- make a complaint to the proper authority.
If you want to ask about your information, you can ask your parent or legal guardian to help you contact us.
16. Important things to know
The SOS Button App is not a police service.
It is not a medical service.
It is not an ambulance service.
It is not an emergency rescue service.
The SOS Button App does not replace emergency services, emergency numbers, trusted adults, parents, legal guardians, teachers, doctors, police, ambulance, or rescue services.
If you are in real danger or need urgent help, you should contact emergency services or ask a trusted adult for help as soon as possible.
We do not promise that every alert, message, notification, or location update will always be sent, delivered, seen, or answered without delay.
Sometimes technology may fail or not work correctly.
17. If something changes
We may update this notice from time to time.
If we make important changes, we may tell users and/or parents or legal guardians in the app, on the website, or in another available way.
